You can find the steps to shutdown/startup The Exadata & RDBMS Services and cell/compute nodes On An Exadata  as below.

  • Shutdown database and cluster services

srvctl stop database -d dbmaster

crsctl stop crs

  • Shutdown cell services

dcli -l root -g cell_group cellcli -e “alter cell shutdown services all”

  • For reboot test of cell group

(dcli -c dbmaster01,dbmaster02,dbmaster03 -l root cellcli -e alter cell shutdown services cellsrv
dcli -c dbmaster01,dbmaster02,dbmaster03 -l root cellcli -e alter cell startup services cellsrv
dcli -c dbmaster01,dbmaster02,dbmaster03 -l root cellcli -e list cell )

OR

dcli -l root -g cell_group “shutdown -F -r now” –> reboot

dcli -l root -g cell_group “hostname”

dcli -l root -g cell_group “service celld status”

  • Power off cell group

dcli -g cell_group -l root poweroff

OR

dcli -l root -g cell_group “shutdown now”

  • Poweroff database compute nodes

dcli -g dbs_group -l root poweroff

OR

dcli -l root -g dbs_group “shutdown now”

  • After booting exadata check disk, alerts,faults etc

dcli -l root -g cell_group cellcli -e list alerthistory

dcli -g cell_group -l root ‘hostname; uptime’

dcli -g cell_group -l root “su – celladmin -c \”cellcli -e list cell detail \””
dcli -g cell_group -l root “su – celladmin -c \”cellcli -e list physicaldisk \””

[root@dbmaster01~]# /opt/oracle.SupportTools/ibdiagtools/verify-topology
[root@dbmaster01~]# ibhosts

[root@dbmaster01~]# imageinfo
